10 Terrific Self Motivating Tips

By Mike Moore

No one can motivate anyone to do anything. All a person can do for another is
provide them with incentives to motivate themselves. Here are ten very effective
strategies to help you get up and get moving toward actualizing your enormous,
untapped potential.

* Be willing to leave your comfort zone. The greatest barrier to achieving your
potential is your comfort zone. Great things happen when you make friends with your discomfort zone.

* Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Wisdom helps us avoid making mistakes and comes from making a million of them.

* Don’t indulge in self-limiting thinking. Think empowering, expansive thoughts.

*Choose to be happy. Happy people are easily motivated. Happiness is your
birthright so don’t settle for anything else.

* Spend at least one hour a day in self-development. Read good books or listen to inspiring tapes. Driving to and from work provides an excellent opportunity to listen to self-improvement tapes.

* Train yourself to finish what you start. So many of us become scattered as we
try to accomplish a task. Finish one task before you begin another.

* Live fully in the present moment. When you live in the past or the future you
aren’t able to make things happen in the present.

* Commit yourself to joy. C.S. Lewis once said, “Joy is the serious business of
heaven.”

* Never quit when you experience a setback or frustration. Success could be just
around the corner.

* Dare to dream big dreams. If there is anything to the law of expectation then we are moving in the direction of our dreams, goals and expectations.

The real tragedy in life is not in how much we suffer, but rather in how much we
miss, so don’t miss a thing.

Charles Dubois once said, “We must be prepared, at any moment, to sacrifice who we are for who we are capable of becoming.”

TRUE  STORY

After having given a lively speech on ” Going for the Gusto ” ( Living, to the Max, the Only Life You Have) I was approached by a young man named Marty who said he wished his parents had been in my audience. It seems his parents, who had just turned 70 and were in good physical condition, had given upon on life and were just waiting to die. “They really needed to hear your positive, uplifting message but I didn’t realize your talk would be like this.”

We chatted for a few minutes and I gave him a free copy of my book for his parents. I do hope they read it and have their life batteries recharged big time.

The tragedy is that there are far too many people like Marty’s parents  in  God’s waiting room. What we need to do is empty the waiting room and fill up God’s play room.

Leader or Follower? by Mike Moore

A father wanted to enroll his son in a popular private academy to ensure a quality education. He proceeded to complete the application and when he came to the question, ” Is your son a leader or a follower?” he immediately wrote down…A FOLLOWER.

The next day he sent the completed application by mail to the school officials.
Within one week the father received a phone call from the registrar saying that his son had been accepted.
When the happy father asked why his son had been accepted so quickly the registrar said, ” Out of the 100 applications we received your son was the only follower. The rest were leaders. This guaranteed him a position.

Just You Wait   (Attributed to Leo Buscaglia)    Theme:Positive Thinking

On my way home one day, I stopped to
watch a Little League base ball game that was being played in a
park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-
base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was
‘We’re behind 14 to nothing,’ he answered
With a smile.
‘Really,’ I said. ‘I have to say you
don’t look very discouraged.’
‘Discouraged?’, the boy asked with a
Puzzled look on his face…
‘Why should we be discouraged? We haven’t
Been up to bat yet.’

The Awesome Power of Positive Thought

Hi. I’m Mike Moore and I’m a Canadian motivational speaker/humourist.

For years I struggled to conquer my out of control fear and anxiety.

When things reached a ridiculous point  where I couldn’t stand it any longer  I had to do something about it  right away.

To learn what I did…READ ON…

Let me Share my Story

When I was in my mid 20s I was a bundle of fear and anxiety.

I couldn’t sleep and the more I couldn’t sleep the more I worried about not being able to sleep. I dreaded the idea of going to bed at night.

I also feared getting cancer or dying of a heart attack.

Any pimple on my nose instantly became cancer of the nose.

I even feared getting married and having children because I feared something terrible happening to them.

I wasn’t living fully I was living fearfully. FEAR AND WORRY HAD OVERTAKEN MY LIFE.

Every time I went to the doctor about an ailment and they told me that I was fine, I didn’t believe them.

They must have missed something.

This continued until I had had enough and decided to do something about it.

I began by researching the subject and applying what I learned to my own life.

Two books that literally transformed my life were How to Stop Worrying and Start Living and The Power of Positive Thinking. I also became very proficient at self hypnosis and the Relaxation Response.

Things began to improve right away using the Awesome Power of Positive Thought.

We all know that positive thoughts and visualization are really effective when it comes to re-educating our subconscious mind and changing our behavior.

My interest in the life changing power of positive thought and visualization started in my mid-twenties (quite a few years ago) when I picked up a copy of Norman Vincent Peale’s best seller “The Power of Positive Thinking”. That book was a great inspiration which eventually lead to the creation of 121 Thoughts of Hope, Joy and Inspiration based on years of successful, and practical application of it’s principles.

Story #1  It’s Just Impossible to Please Everyone

Long ago on a small farm outside a remote country village there lived a father and son who grew vegetables to earn their living.

Each Saturday morning they would take their produce, by donkey, to the local market about 2 miles away.

One Saturday morning they both rode the donkey to the market with the produce on their backs. The people on route looked at the father and son on the donkey and said, Continue Reading Here
