The Awesome Power of Positive Thought

By | Anxiety, Food for Thought, Inspiration, Motivation, Self Confidence, Self Improvement, staff morale, Stress Management | No Comments

We all know that positive thoughts and visualization are really effective when it comes to re-educating our subconscious mind and changing our behavior.

My interest in the life changing power of positive thought and visualization started in my mid-twenties (quite a few years ago) when I picked up a copy of Norman Vincent Peale’s best seller “The Power of Positive Thinking”. That book was a great inspiration which eventually lead to the creation of 121 Thoughts of Hope, Joy and Inspiration based on years of successful, and practical application of it’s principles.

  • Dear Mike
We so enjoy your philosophy, your positive attitude and your sense of humour. After extensive cancer surgery and John being diagnosed with Parkinson’s life has been, and still is, at times, a bumpy road. But each day is a gift and with so much of your positive input we keep going. We hope to have the pleasure of meeting you personally.
    Until then, thank you.

  • This Amazon.com review by Wendy Priesnitz is for Embracing the Mystery (Paperback)
This is a little jewel of a book, which contains a wealth of inspiration for living a happier, healthier, more fulfilling life.
Moore provides tips for reducing stress, improving self-esteem, banishing fear, nurturing patience, and more. But more than that, he helps us get back in touch with the sense of joy and wonder that so often gets buried under the busyness of daily life.
The author is also a cartoonist and his casual writing style is enhanced by a generous dose of appropriate cartoons, which never fail to bring a smile to my lips, no matter how glum I’m feeling. This is one of those books to which I return whenever I feel like I need help becoming a better person.

10 Self Motivating Tips Self Improvement

Ten Effective Self Motivating Tips

No one can motivate anyone to do anything. All a person can do for another is provide them with incentives to motivate themselves. Here are ten very effective strategies to help you get up and get moving toward actualizing your enormous, untapped potential.

  1. Be willing to leave your comfort zone. The greatest barrier to achieving your potential is your comfort zone. Great things happen when you make friends with your discomfort zone.
  2. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Wisdom helps us avoid making mistakes and comes from making a million of them.
  3. Don’t indulge in self-limiting thinking. Think empowering, expansive thoughts.
  4. Choose to be happy. Happy people are easily motivated. Happiness is your birthright so don’t settle for anything else.
  5. Spend at least one hour a day in self-development. Read good books or listen to inspiring tapes. Driving to and from work provides an excellent opportunity to listen to self-improvement tapes.
  6. Train yourself to finish what you start. So many of us become scattered as we try to accomplish a task. Finish one task before you begin another.
  7. Live fully in the present moment. When you live in the past or the future you aren’t able to make things happen in the present.
  8. Commit yourself to joy. C.S. Lewis once said, ” Joy is the serious business of heaven.”
  9. Never quit when you experience a setback or frustration. Success could be just around the corner.
  10. Dare to dream big dreams. If there is anything to the law of expectation then we are moving in the direction of our dreams, goals and expectations.

The real tragedy in life is not in how much we suffer, but rather in how much we miss, so don’t miss a thing.

Charles Dubois once said, ” We must be prepared, at any moment, to sacrifice who we are for who we are capable of becoming.”
